Ancestral Single Agave

$299.00 Sold out

The Corte Vetusto Ancestral Single-Agave represents one of the rarest traditions in mezcal — double distillation in clay pot stills, a method almost lost to time and practiced by only a handful of maestros worldwide. This ancient process creates a mezcal of profound character: earthy, smoky, mineral, and deeply expressive of its origins.

With fewer than 80 liters produced globally for this batch, each release of our Ancestral line is both an homage to Oaxaca’s heritage and a coveted treasure for true connoisseurs. More than mezcal, it is a collector’s piece — a spirit as rare as the craft that shapes it.

Key Highlights:
  • Double Distilled: Exclusively in ancestral clay pot stills
  • Limited Release: Less than 120 liters produced worldwide per release
  • Highly collectible: Sought by discerning mezcal connoisseurs
Agave:

100% mature Agave Americana (Arroqueño)

Production Method

Ancestral Process

True to ancestral mezcal production, the agave was harvested, slow cooked underground, hand mashed with wooden mallets and left to ferment naturally. The resulting tepache was then double distilled in ancestral 70L clay pot stills to yield an exquisite mezcal that is rich, earthy, complex and a true expression of the terroir.
